Instructional Design
Creating educational products and content requires that one can see the big picture as well as have an understanding of the details necessary to paint that picture. As such, an experienced Instructional Designer possesses many of the same skills as an effective Project Manager. Susan applies the following skills and knowledge to these roles.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine learning outcomes and learner personas
- Create course development roadmaps, guides, storyboards and templates
- Work side-by-side with Subject Matter Experts
- Lead content, assessment, learning object development and course production
- Evaluate course content quality and user experience
- Train faculty, instructors, and subject matter experts (ghostwrite for them when called upon)
- Analyze learner data for feedback and revisions
- Build course components using various technologies (Blackboard, Canvas, Coursera & RISE)
